2008 Fiat 500: UK Prices Star Under £8,000

Fiat’s UK department has just announced prices of the new 500 (huge image gallery here), which goes on sale through the Italian carmaker’s 162-strong UK dealer network in January 2008. On-the-road prices at tax happy UK start at £7,900 ($16,450 or €11,350) for the basic 69 bhp 1.2-litre version and go up to £10,700 ($22,270 or €15,380) for the better equipped 100 bhp 1.4-litre petrol & 75 bhp 1.3-litre MultiJet turbodiesel versions. -Continued after the jump

The new Fiat 500 can be ordered in three different trim levels – Pop, Sport and Lounge with standard equipment in the entry-level Pop including ABS anti-lock brakes with EBD, driver, passenger, side and driver’s knee airbags, radio/CD/MP3 player, power steering, electric mirrors, colour coded bumpers and chrome-plated door handles. Sport and Lounge versions add the Blue & Mehands-free media system, air conditioning and 15” alloy wheels. The Sport specification includes a rear roof spoiler, fog lights, sports interior and dark tinted rear windows, while Lounge trim includes a split, folding rear seat and fixed glass roof.

Fiat also offers a huge list of style options for personalising the interior and exterior of the new 500.
