Audi Q7 3.0 TDI With New 240 Hp V6 Diesel Engine

Following the debut of Audi’s latest generation 3.0L V6 diesel engine in the A5 Coupe and recently, in the new A4 Saloon, the German luxury carmaker is now offering the 3.0 TDI six-cylinder unit to the Q7. It produces 240 Hp and a maximum torque figure of 550 Nm (405.7-lbs/ft), more than 90% of which is available across a broad speed range from 1,500 to 3,250 rpm. Comparatively, the outgoing 3.0 TDi engine delivered 233 Hp and a maximum torque of 500 Nm (368.8-lbs-ft). -Continued after the jump

According to Audi, the new Q7 3.0 TDI accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.5 sec and has a top speed of 216 km/h - 134 mph (previous Q7: 9.1 sec & 210 km/h – 130 mph respectively). Moreover, the 2008 Q7 3.0 TDI boasts an avg. consumption of 9.8 lt/100km or 24 mpg, meaning that, despite the increase in output and torque, the new version needs 0.7 litres less than its predecessor (22.4 mpg).
