1966 Ford Mustang El-Camino With Chevy S-10 Rear-End!

Continuing our talk on hot El-Camino’s here’s another sport ute that will eminently spice up your libido… The Ford Mustang El-Camino or simply Mustangmino, combines the front-end of a 1966 Mustang with the rear-half of a shortened Chevy S-10 pick-up box. The bastardized “Mustangmino” is up for sale on eBay but before you attempt to sharpen your “French”, note that the seller supports that the rear-half of the Mustang was completely destroyed when he acquired the classic coupe. Whatever the reason or the cause, this is one ugly piece of "merde". -Continued after the jump

eBay Description

For Sale - 1966 Mustang one-of-a-kind pickup truck - The front half (cab) is a 1966 mustang and the rear half is a tubular steel frame with a shorten S-10 box with a customize tail gate. The vehicle was originally made because no one makes a pickup truck which is less than 16 feet long and that is the length of my side of the garage. I know it is sacrilegious to do this to a Mustang, however the rear half of this one was already gone when I got it.

It was built with the original 108 inch wheel base, the rear of the cab had a tubular roll cage welded in for support and was than enclosed with sheet metal. The rear frame is 1 1/2 x 3 inch tubular steel built in a ladder style construction and in bolted and welded to the side rocker panels, and tied into the roll cage and is also connected to the front frame rails extension with frame connectors. I actually hauled 2 tons of scrap steel to the junk yard in the box of this vehicle so I know it is strong enough.

The rear window is from a Toyota pickup. The front end has the heavy duty GT suspension and was lowered 1 inch like the 65 Shelby's for better handling and front disc brakes. It is powered by a 289 cuin engine with flat top piston which was rebuilt 7900 mile ago, a 3 speed trany and a 8 inch 3.00 rear end finish the drive train. It has a 16 gallon Ford Mustang fuel tank in the rear of vehicle.

If you prefer I have an automatic trany that could be swaped The truck was built as a DAILY DRIVER and is NOT A SHOW CAR. I have taken it to many cruise nites and it get lots of attention. ( Some people get real upset because I wrecked a perfectly good Mustang - but they will get over it I hope) My friends describe it as a great looking truck. It was built in 1999, but was recently repainted and it meets all my criteria - All one color, reasonably flat and Shinny. I just put a new dual exhaust, steel brake lines, fuel line, 3 row radiator, windshield, tires less than 1500 miles, upholstery on bench seat is less than a year old.

Options: Dual speed wipers, AM/FM tape Pioneer Radio, Heater, Bench seat, 3 rd Brake lite, Front Disc brakes, HD suspension, Wire wheel covers, Tinted windows, Fresh paint. Now the defects: Dash pad has a crack in the center, front bumper and door handle chrome iffy, interior door panels are warped .
